Constant-velocity joints (also known as CV joints) are what connect the transmission to the wheels. They are used primarily on front-wheel-drive vehicles. If your car makes noise when accelerating at low speeds and taking a tight turn (usually a clicking, knocking, or grinding sound), it is likely failing. Some 2015-2016 F-150 vehicles may exhibit a vibration on acceleration or cruise that is originating from the driveshaft and/or rear axle. During preliminary inspection look for visible driveshaft damage, alignment of the axle pinion flange to driveshaft flange yellow dots, and that the rear driveshaft flange sits flat on the axle pinion flange. If the inner one fails on you then the vehicle will start to vibrate noticeably as you accelerate to speed. The faster you go the more noticeable it's going to become. As well, if the CV joint gets worse, which it will over time, the vibration will become more and more intense.Just added a 2" front 1" rear Daystar suspension lift and Roadmaster Active Suspension springs on my 2010 Pro-4x CC. With an exhaust leak, the muffling of the noise is cut short, making the noise louder. Worn or otherwise compromised drive belts are a common cause of noises when accelerating. There are also some more technical causes to point out ...There are two major causes of vibrations: tires and wheels that are out of balance and, in rear-drive vehicles, worn u-joints. Universal joints (U-joints) are what allow for the up-and-down travel of the suspension as you go down the road in a rear-drive vehicle. If I apply hard acceleration say up to 70mph I don't feel the vibration/wobble. But if I l slowly accelerate it will do it everytime the speedo passes by 50.
